The Oyster Series is the heart and soul of Ae Ceramics.  Alison Evans was inspired not only by the shape and beauty of these creatures, but also by the livelihood they provide for oyster farmers and workers on the coast of Maine.  Using a modernized shape of the shell, Alison broke free of the traditionally round plate and created what is now the Oyster Series. 

The Round Series is for those who seek more traditional dinnerware, but still desire the colors and patterns offered by our glazes. While some may compare the interior glazes to that of a shell, the colors are very versatile and lend themselves to various settings, from mountain cabins to urban chic.  

The Razor Clam series is a very loose interpretation of the Razor Clam (Ensis directus), also known as the bamboo clam or American jackknife clam. It is found in the Atlantic and along the coast of Maine. 

The clean, spineless sea urchin has a beautiful pattern of dots that are loosely interpreted in the Sea Urchin series. The bowls are designed to nest inside each other. 

The Sea Clam Series is inspired by the giant sea clams (Tridacna Gigas) that are indigenous to the South Pacific and Indian Oceans. We aim to recreate the brilliant architecture of this massive, unique shell for you to admire everyday in your home.
